Help Democrats Take Back The House!

Fighting Alongside Our Veterans To Save Our Health Care

Dear Friends,

Right now, we are in a critical battle. Trump, Musk and MAGA Republicans are gleefully trying to obliterate Medicaid, cut Social Security and Medicare, harm Veterans Care and dismantle our safety net. Democrats are fighting for veterans; we are fighting for women; we are fighting for families; and we are defending these vital lifelines of health and economic security For The People. Democrats will always defend those who serve America as we strive to leave no veteran behind.

Since Trump barged back into office, more than 6000 veterans have already been fired by him and his unelected Co-President Elon Musk and now there are reports that they are scheming to snatch away the jobs and financial security of more than 80,000 workers at Veterans Affairs.

Democrats didn’t ask for this fight, but we will fight this fight and prevail – because ensuring the health and financial security of our veterans and of the American people is a Democratic value. The contrast between our Democratic Party and Trump’s Republican Party could not be more stark. Democrats want to strengthen Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and veterans care. Trump and Musk want to make America sicker and poorer, all to make the ultra-rich even richer — while adding up to $4 trillion to the national debt.

Save Our Health Care: The Power of Moms

On Tuesday, my guest for the Joint Address to Congress was our beloved friend and superhero in our fight to save Medicaid, Elena Hung. As mom to her precious and precocious daughter Xiomara and Executive Director and Co-Founder of Little Lobbyists, a family-led organization that advocates for children with complex medical needs and disabilities, Elena is no stranger to tirelessly sharing her personal story.

Elena educates elected officials on the lifesaving impact of Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act and inspires countless others to fight to ensure that children with disabilities and complex medical needs have the health care, education and community inclusion they need to survive and to thrive.

Elena knows the power of her personal story and she uses that power to demonstrate that the cruelty of Republicans’ sustained assault on our health care affects real lives – as she and Xiomara put a face to the numbers on their spreadsheets.

Women’s History Month: When Women Succeed, America Succeeds!

As we celebrate Women’s History Month, the Democratic women in the House are protecting our families and communities – and we will never back down. Over the years, we have witnessed profound changes in women’s representation in Congress. When I first took office, there were just twelve Democratic women in the House. Today, we have 96 – and we want more!

But this change wasn’t by chance — it was by choice. We not only made a decision to bring more women to the table; we made sure they were leading at the head of the table. As Speaker, I used the power of the gavel to increase women’s representation and to ensure that women were making the decisions that shaped the future of our country. Democratic women in the House were instrumental in crafting and passing historic legislation benefitting women and working families – including the Affordable Care Act that we are defending today from Republicans.

Democratic women, in the Congress and across America, are on the frontlines to Save Our Health Care once again. We salute these women caregivers, patients, advocates and leaders during this Women’s History Month and every day!

We Want To Hear From You: Share Your Personal Story!

Republicans voted to take Medicaid from their own constituents — and Democrats are making sure the people in their District know who is fighting for them and who is selling them out. Across America, people are already feeling the pain of Trump’s policies at their kitchen tables. It is clear that Trump doesn’t care about the pain of the American people — but he should fear their power.

When we saved the Affordable Care Act from Trump the first time, it was about people telling their personal stories of what health care means to them and to their precious loved ones – including moms like Elena and veterans. It’s time to raise the volume and the reach of your voice once again with your powerful personal stories!

Know your power and use your power. We don’t agonize – we organize!

Working together, we will Save Our Health Care, take back the House in upcoming elections or in 19 months, and make Hakeem Jeffries the next Speaker of the House!

Thank you for working tirelessly to Save Our Health Care,
